I’ve had both the 950 Adventure and now a 990S Adventure. The 950 ran great, but the best gas mileage I ever got was 38 mpg and got as low as 25 mpg. On the 990 I always get better than 40, almost always 45, and have even gotten 50 while riding with a bunch of cruisers. Of course I could have ridden a bicycle about as fast.
Apr 29, 2006. Oddometer: 66. Location: Centennial, Colorado. I have checked the past threads on mileage and bikes. It seems that the 950 gets around 28 mpg when ridden hard and up to 40 mpg at more cruising speeds with less throttle.
Posted December 18, 2008. i get 25-30mpg routinely in all my 2strokes, from 200-300cc. Can be even higher in tight trails where I'm rarely on the pipe. Lowest I've ever seen was running dead out at 65 miles (2.9 gal tank) in a very sandy desert race where I spent some time upside down in a creek bed. ?

This is in response to a letter some nutcase wrote to RIDER magazine concerning the KTM 950-990 Adventure. RIDER did a great report on the 010 990 Adventure, but some guy wrote in complaining about the bike, stating that the fuel tanks had to be removed to do such basic services as clean the air filter and change the oil.
